What are the desk surfaces made of and how are they finished?
  All Biomorph surfaces are HDF (High Density Fiberboard), a manufactured wood product that combines rigidity, incredible strength and precision finishing. Maple plywood is an incredibly strong, high quality furniture-grade plywood with a revealed edge and a genuine blonde maple face finished with our clear lacquer. Inconsistencies, color changes and figuring in the grain of the veneer and edges are part of the beauty of natural wood and are not considered imperfections. Each desktop is made from a unique sheet of plywood and consequently there will be differences from one desk or surface to another. Natural Maple veneer can change color over time, especially when exposed to sunlight, and dry or humid environments can cause changes in the grain in the form of very small splits or textualising. None of the above is considered claimable against the warranty. All Biomorph surfaces are solid material with bullnosed or champfered edges. We do not use plastic laminates or taped plastic edges. Surfaces are finished with our super-durable, baked-on catalyzed lacquer with our own specially developed semi-matte, non-glare finish. Desk surfaces and large extension surfaces are 1” thick, Exo/XO2 desks and small extension surfaces are 3/4” thick. Finish samples are available by request.

How do you figure how much space the desk will take-up?
  All Biomorph desks have specific, space efficient 'footprints', the actual space that the desk and the user will take up on the floor. These footprints may be found on the 'specs' tabs for each model.

Biomorph desks are designed to fit into corners, or to be placed up against or at 45 degrees to a wall, and all can be freestanding. For multiple unit installations we have the free 'Biomorph Custom Solutions Service' to help you with your space planning. Do you offer discounts?
  Yes, we offer volume discounts that start at $5,000 net invoice value. We market Biomorph products direct and we do not offer dealer discounts or architectural discounts. All of our prices are net prices.
We also offer "discount complete set-up packages"

A word about contract furniture industry 'list pricing' practices:
We do not structure our pricing on so-called manufacturer's 'list price' that is then discounted to the customer. Biomorph products are marketed directly to you and shipped directly from our factories and warehouses. All of our pricing reflects savings from not having dealer or rep networks.

Is there a warranty on the Biomorph desks?
  There is a five-year warranty on all Biomorph, Ground Support Equipment (U.S.) Ltd. and SIS-USA inc. products except those which are covered by sub-suppliers own warranties including keyboard mechanisms, pneumatic springs, linear actuator and electric motors. Biomorph, Ground Support Equipment (U.S.) Ltd. and SIS-USA inc. warrant to the original Customer that the products they manufacturers are free of defects in craftsmanship and materials found during normal usage in the warranty period. With prompt written notice, Biomorph, Ground Support Equipment (U.S.) Ltd. and SIS-USA inc shall repair or replace, at its option and cost, any products that fail to conform to the warranty with the exception of items listed below.

  • Damage caused by a carrier.
• Labor charges.
• Normal wear and tear.
• Defects caused by improper installation.
• COM or other third party materials applied to the products.
• Products subjected to improper use and conditions.
• Damage resulting from misuse, negligence, accident or alteration.

What is the freight claims, returns and restocking, order cancellation policy and terms and conditions on Biomorph desks?
  Risk of loss passes to the Customer upon Biomorph, Ground Support Equipment (U.S.) Ltd. delivery of the Product to the carrier (FOB). The Customer or Customer’s Agent must note product shortages and damage on delivery receipts at the time of receipt. If the carrier damaged the Product while in transit, the Customer has sole obligation of seeking any recourse against the appropriate carrier. Claims against Biomorph, Ground Support Equipment (U.S.) Ltd. for shortages and errors must be made within seven (7) days of the date of delivery.

No freight damage claims may be made after 15 days from receipt. No merchandise may be returned without written consent of Biomorph, Ground Support Equipment (U.S.) Ltd. in the form of a return goods authorization and shipping instructions. Parts are only returnable if damaged or incorrect, otherwise a restocking fee applies as follows: Previously assembled desks with original packing materials – 50% of net invoice price plus round trip freight charges; Opened unassembled parts with original packing materials – 35% of net invoice price plus round trip freight charges; Unopened packaging – 25% of net invoice price plus round trip freight charges. Refunds will be made after receipt and inspection of goods in our warehouse. No merchandise is to be sent to the New York City address without prior written consent. Any unauthorized shipments will be refused and returned at the owners expense. Orders for custom and non-standard products are not cancelable. Post shipment pre-delivery cancellation incur return & restocking charges. Shipments held over 15 days incur storage charges. Original manufacturer terms & conditions apply to non-Biomorph products sold under dealership.

In the interest of manufacturing better products, design and construction changes may be effected without notice. Prices and conditions are subject to change without notice and will be posted on our website as soon as possible.

Can you customize the desk to fit my needs?
  Biomorph desks are designed to work for a wide variety of applications, and our standard models will fit the bill in the majority of circumstances. We can, however, offer customization within certain parameters. Custom, matched finishes are available, as are modifications to existing designs. We can also apply Biomorph design principles to your company's specific needs, for multiple unit orders.

How are Biomorph desks delivered?
  To maximize economy, we ship Biomorph desk parts from our several factories directly to you. The tops, frames and accessories are shipped independently by different carriers and will arrive at different times within the normal delivery window. Except for the Exo/XO2 desks, chairs and add-ons which are shipped by UPS, all other Biomorph desk parts are delivered by commercial trucking companies due to their size and weight, who will call to arrange delivery 24-48 hours prior to delivery. We have to package the larger desktops in plywood crates for protection. Some crates are heavy (especially the larger desks) and will require help receiving, or you may request an inside delivery option (extra charges will apply). Typical truck deliveries are door-to-door, or dock-to-dock. All shipments are insured against damage en route. VERY IMPORTANT: You must report damaged cartons or merchandise immediately at (888) 302-DESK and note on delivery slip BEFORE trucker leaves. If shipment is left by UPS then please contact them and state that there was damage. IF DAMAGE IS NOT STATED ON DELIVERY SLIP THEN AN INSURANCE CLAIM CANNOT BE MADE.

How long will it take to receive my desk(s) and other products?
  The shipping time for normal delivery of stocked items is 2-3 weeks, 4-6 weeks for chair and lighting, sometimes less depending on locations. For out of stock, customized orders or special color including metallic finishes, the shipping time is 4-6 weeks. Accelerated and international shipping is available. Larger orders (50 units or more) can take 5-8 weeks to ship.

Do the desks come already assembled?
  No, to achieve economic packaging and shipping, the desks arrive knocked-down. Due to efficient design, desk assembly is very easy, utilizing the included tools and hardware. Two people may be needed for the larger desks, due to the weight of the tops. Powered screwdrivers are recommended.

Assembly instructions are sent to you by email prior to the delivery of your Biomorph desk. They are also included with the desks, and you can print out from our website http://www.Biomorphdesk.com/1-888-302-DESK/assembling_order.html .

On-site installation service is available for multiple unit orders.

What if the desk arrives damaged en route?
  All shipments are insured against damage en route.
VERY IMPORTANT: You must report damaged cartons or merchandise immediately at (888) 302-DESK and note on delivery slip BEFORE trucker leaves. If shipment is left by UPS then please contact them and state that there was damage.
IF DAMAGE IS NOT STATED ON DELIVERY SLIP THEN AN INSURANCE CLAIM CANNOT BE MADE.

How do I adjust the desk from sit to stand position?
  All Biomorph desks are height adjustable. Depending on which model you purchase, you will be able to adjust the height of your desk surfaces using a lift-and-lock system, hand crank, a spring loaded mechanism, or with a touch of a button for the electric powered versions.

How much weight will Biomorph desks with-stand?
  Biomorph desks are built with sturdy steel frames and heavy load bearing surfaces. Depending on the model, they can hold up to 400lbs of equipment without difficulty. However, prudent loading and equipment placement should be taken into account.
